Everyone knows about the Nobel prizes that are awarded each year, but did you know that there's another organization that gives out what are called Ig Nobel Prizes? As the name suggests, these are for ... different contributions to humanity than you might see awarded the regular Nobel. Of particular interest (to me at least) is winner James Watson for his scholarly study: "The Significance of Mr. Richard Buckley’s Exploding Trousers," though all of them are pretty cool!
